Toilet and classroom improvements
Poverty has become one of the identities of Nepal. If you try to get general information about Nepal then it is very likely that you will get a sentence starting as ‘Nepal is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world’ the facts indicate the same as the country lacks in all the development sectors.
Around the globe every 20 seconds a child dies as a result of poor sanitation. Nepal too faces similar problems as hundreds of children are prone to several diseases due to poor sanitation. There are very few schools in the country where the students are fortunate to have good toilets and classrooms.
25 April 2015 was a nightmare for all the Nepalese as they faced 7.8 magnitude earthquake which affected 39 out of 75 districts resulting around 9,000 dead and over 22,000 injured. It was a heavy loss for the developing country like Nepal. The earthquake destroyed many school buildings and toilets which resulted from the students to study without roof and poor sanitation for months.
Shanti Pant Foundation believes that a well-constructed school building and sanitation in schools brings benefits to the students and teachers as it brings positive impacts on them. We work to ensure that proper toilets are built in rural schools in Nepal and facilitate them with adequate resources to maintain the same.
With your support, we will be able to save the children from poor sanitation and improve their classrooms.
