Waarom hebben meisjes in Nepal
meer hulp en support nodig?

Educatie voor meisjes is niet de prioriteit voor de meeste families in Nepal. Van hen wordt over het algemeen verwacht dat zij in de velden werken, water dragen, het vee melken en voeren, het verzorgen van jongere kinderen en het doen van ander huishoudelijk werk. Veel van hen trouwen al op een jonge leeftijd en bereiken niet eens de middelbare school. Vooral bij arme gezinnen is het vaak het geval dat de meisjes zelfs de gehele toegang tot educatie wordt ontnomen. Een gebrek aan privileges maakt hen dit leven dus veel moeilijker.

Het helpen onderwijzen van kinderen in Nepal

Op dit moment is de Shanti Pant Foundation bezig met het verbeteren van leef-en onderwijsomstandigheden op vier scholen in verschillende delen van Nepal. Dit zijn de scholen in Bardia - Sukhad, Bardia - Thakurdwara, Bhaktapur en Kavrepalanchok.

 

We proberen hier te helpen, en de educatie te verbeteren op verschillende manieren. Voorbeelden zijn; het helpen renoveren van de scholen, schoon drinkwater toegankelijk maken, het creëren van sponsoring voor de leraren, en het leveren van schrijfmateriaal en sanitaire middelen voor de meisjes.

 

We proberen op deze manier te helpen waar we kunnen, en te gaan waar hulp nodig is. En zo hopen we onze invloed door heel Nepal te laten groeien, zodat wij zoveel mogelijk kinderen kunnen helpen en we kunnen werken aan een betere toekomst voor Nepal.
